Sometimes, Winds doesn't understand Kiyoshi at all: 'sometimes' is rather more than he'd like to admit, especially now that he can call the other boy his best friend. Staying with a boyfriend who was a complete dick to him because he thought he hadn't given him a fair chance, then turning down the nice, really hot man who was as sweet as he was good-looking and who Winds had been trying to get into the pants of for weeks himself with no luck at all, and then deciding to try to turn up to the date looking like he was going to a goddamn funeral.
Kiyoshi was one of the smartest people he knew, if not the smartest, but clearly he had lived under a rock before he had Awakened. Even now, he was staring into the mirror with a blank gaze, as if looking right through it, as Winds laces up the back of the purple dress. "Was there something wrong with...?"
"You looked like you were going to a funeral," Winds replies, shaking his head as he ties the lacing. "No, not just going to a funeral - black makes you look like you're dead. And I really don't want to think of you dead yet, and neither does London."
"Oh." Kiyoshi says, dreamily, and Winds wonders what unnaturally accurate insight he has now. Sometimes, as useful as that scarily precise, scarily intelligent mind of Kiyoshi's is, has been and will certainly be in their future, Winds wishes he could trade some of it for a degree of normal social functioning, or glue Kiyoshi's mind back together so that he isn't so obviously broken. "O...okay."
"I mean if you want to scare the Consilium, or our enemies , or whatever, that's perfectly fine." Winds adds, finding a violet ribbon to match the dress and Kiyoshi's purple-dyed hair. Kiyoshi likes wearing white or black, drapes himself in black veils when he's acting as a Guardian, as Adrestia rather than Kiyoshi, but he looks like a ghost in white or a corpse in black, and Winds makes a note to try to get some other colors into his wardrobe for when he's not working. "But you're going on a date. That's different."
Kiyoshi is so pretty, Winds thinks, watching as he moves, and maybe once he would have been jealous, he remembers being jealous, but he isn't any more. Skirts suit him, the long fluttery ones: Winds was tempted to lend him one of his miniskirts and maybe a pair of high heels because Kiyoshi has nice legs, he's seen London get distracted by Kiyoshi wearing a short skirt before, and he knows London likes pretty young men in dresses, but gave up on the idea, because Kiyoshi wears dresses but he's not comfortable in short skirts. Or maybe Winds is still jealous, just a little, that he worked so hard to flirt with London and the only reason he paid him any attention at all in the first place was that he thought his best friend was out of his league.
Maybe he is, a little, but it's okay, because he's got more than enough on his plate romantically anyway, between technically dating Leonidas and then Kara and then whatever Macha wanted, and he wants Kiyoshi to be happy, too. And London might be a changeling actually made of rock, or something, but person that got turned into rock or not, if he made Kiyoshi unhappy, Winds was going to make his life miserable.
